Springbok

So there were always a lot of them running around.

Springbuck, which are in a great abundance.

They were a blessed buck here when we moved on.

And Kudu.

Dunn boy, as we christened him, was a willing, hardy, handy little nag full of fire and courage and a perfect wonder at game.

Dove did some excellent shooting with him at Giraffe, Wildebeest, Springbok, and Lekwa.

I used him while Dove was laid up, and thanks to his speed and perfect behavior, killed two giraffe off his back in one afternoon, besides a zebra and other game on different occasions.

He was an ideal shooting pony, had evidently been in the veldt before, he was understood to have been up in Matabele land, and he directly saw game, chased them like a dog, taking his rider close up to giraffe, and thus affording an easy shot from his back.

Build-up continues towards test number three of the South Africa All Blacks series.

The Springboks, of course, named their team.

Earlier in the week, we'll have to wait until, I guess, late tonight, isn't it, to hear officially what the All Black team looks like.

It's pretty much, I think, given the feedback we've had during the week, I think people are pretty much keen on the consistency route.

We are confident about this upcoming Saturday.

There's never a time when I know, Rudy, and I'm half South African, if you can be such a thing, so I know from my time in the East Cape that their confidence rides high.

I was there in 1995, and even though the All Blacks were destroying everyone in their path, everyone was still confident the Springboks would win that one, so...

I know that you and Juan have a great podcast, Behind the Ruck, that you work diligently on.

And, yeah, I tried those three, got the little platter with that to try something a little bit different, and it was all quite tasty.
