Spring Drive

When Grand Seiko announced the UFA movement, I got super, super excited because even though I've never owned a spring drive, I absolutely loved the engineering and the ingenuity behind it.

And so to take the spring drive, which you might already consider relative to an automatic movement to be the nth degree, truly is now the nth degree with the UFA movement.

And I was really excited at release time to see what else the brand would do with that movement.

And not only did Grand Seiko pack it into a incredibly wearable 40 millimeter 300-meter dive watch, but they paired it with what folks have asked for for quite some time, which is an on-the-fly micro-adjustment clasp from Grand Seiko, which I thought worked very, very well.

and...

One more thing about Grand Seiko, and I noted that I've never owned a Spring Drive, and I think there's definitely one in the queue for me eventually, right? I think it's definitely a watch that I'd like to add to my collection.

And like she was at a Grand Seiko event and saw an incredible presentation on Spring Drive.

And she just immediately turned to me and said, you need to get one of those.

And what's exciting is for visitors of Topper, like, if someone were to walk into Topper today, um, we have a reasonable selection of both Hi-Beat, which the first came out on October 1st, and Spring Drives now.

So w- so it, it was before if we had one watch of w- of one of the Spring Drive models, we were lucky.

So I'm curious.
