Spoonman

See, this is kind of an aspect of Soundgarden that is so interesting to me.

They could rock like Spoonman.

They have that ability, and everyone else in the world would die to have that ability.

And they do stuff like this that's just weird.

I can hear the compression on his voice in that a little bit.

So, this didn't chart.

This was released as a single in 1994, after Spoonman, before Black Hole Sun.

Maybe it was only released in the UK.

Not, not new, but new to the program, and it is Soundgarden.

And this is off of Superunknown, 1994, their lead single off it, and it is Spoonman.

Spoonman.

[rock music] Oh.

[rock music] Feel the rhythm with your hands.

Feel the rhythm while you can.

Spoonman.

Speed the rhythm on your own.

I'm a fan of, like, hard rock, heavy metal kinds of stuff in there, so I kinda wanna start to get an idea of, like, what it sounds like when there's a little bit more energy in the song.

Um, now not, now these tracks are not necessarily heavy metal, but one of them is definitely more hard rock, and that one would be "Spoonman" by Soundgarden.

Um, you know, early '90s grunge rock, uh, in there.

And that- [chuckles] what's really interesting about the album that, uh, this comes from, which is "Superunknown," I believe-

Yeah

...

but "Spoonman" sounds really good off the same album.

It's just the re- the recording quality is, is much better on that one.

I mean, don't get me wrong.

I liked Spoonman.

I liked Outshine.

Did you like Audioslave?

[laughs]
