We talked last week about Kiki-Jiki Splinter Twin.

So we know that we wanted cards like Deceiver Exarch.

We talked about Divining Julis, which is the new one.

Not that the other colors don't have lots of cool stuff going on, but when you need to cut a green card, you don't quite feel that pain, you know? So it's just giving you more room to try different stuff in blue, you know? Because blue has so many cards which feel like auto-includes that are really, really hard to cut.

And if you have complete color balance, it just leaves you very little space to try other stuff.

No, exactly, and it's just a thing as well of, like, so many of the additional packages that we want to run are, like, Blue X, like, the Wheels deck, like, Splinter Twin, like, the Artifact deck really touches blue quite a lot, like, Storm has a blue element to it, so does Dream Halls, like...

These are kind of cool, interesting, powerful cards, or interesting decks we want to run, but they might not be full blue, but they're at least, like, touching blue at least a little bit, and they will take cards out of it.

Oh, yeah, I do.

It's for the Splinter Twin stuff.

I think both of those things are stuff we can go back to.

So I think Splinter Twin is actually something we can include in this queue.

Some decks want one of those cards, like a Bolas's Citadel Tinker Academy deck wants Xernorb, whereas like a green-white beatdown deck, totally fine to play Sylvan Safekeeper.

So those cards even have some strength in themselves, whereas like chain of smog and splinter twin or not cards you would ever play outside of like their specific combo things.

But I think the lands deck has actually developed in a really cool direction across just cubes overall, not just the arena cube, though definitely here as well.

It used to be that it was like, Crop Rotation and, you know, Elvish Reclaimer and Dark Depths and Stage.

Cause that's the goal, right? Uh, that's funny.

Um, now big picture, uh, again, with the changes to this particular version of the cube, I'm looking at the change log here and, uh, on the in category, I'm seeing another iconic, I would say combo coming back in as well.

So Splinter Twin has naturally made it to the client through Reality Fracture's special guest sheet, which we used as an opportunity to add Kiki Chiki Mirror Breaker.

So again, we're talking a lot about combo redundancy in this episode.

Um, so I, I have cards like Kiki-Jiki and Splinter Twin in there that are known for their, their potential to go off, but I don't have the things that they go off with in that way, so you have to find fun and interesting ways, things to do with them.

What that format looks like for me and my friends, right? So right here we've got Blue Green Tron, Burn, Lantern Control, Splinter Twin, Scapeshift, Storm, Melira Pod.

So I could do a Archangel of Thune pod as well.

I just decided to go Melira pod 'cause Melira was cheaper.

It, it, it's changed over the years.

So the one I have right now that I bring to every RC is I have dual deck Splinter Twin versus Birthing Pod.

It's 2014 Birthing Pod and 2014 Splinter Twin, and we play game ones.

Uh, it's a blast.

It's awesome.

Uh, and then I died to an Inkmoth Nexus attacking me 10 times.

And on, like, turn infinite [laughs] um, my life total was 16 probably.

Uh, and I drew Splinter Twin on the final turn of the game with a Snapcaster Mage in play, and a Bolt in my graveyard, and two red sources.
