Splash Mountain

there's things i've forgotten that i would like wanna so the the pod obviously it's night it's like a nice little time capsule too but um the first thing i thought of was when mike and i boarded the disney wish one of the cruise ships on our honeymoon we like ran into captain mickey like yeah we just like ran into him and he it was just like so spur of the moment it was only like um captain mickey and his attendant and then us two and we were like confused and didn't know where to go on the ship and like it was just funny and we just had this really we're like mickey we're on our honeymoon he did this like cutesy thing and we didn't get any pictures we didn't do anything of that sort we were just like totally in the moment it was it was really fun um My next thing on here is riding Tiana's with my parents.

So this was Splash Mountain for them like the several times that they had gone previously.

So they kind of knew what they were getting into.

So right before the big drop, my dad turned his baseball cap around.

For somebody else, it represented the excitement they felt about the future when they were a child.

And for some people, let's say Splash Mountain was just a log flume ride.

But for somebody else, it might have been the first major thrill ride they ever conquered.

And I think those memories matter.

Yeah.

I really want to go into Disneyland because they still have Splash Mountain.

And as much as I love Tiana, I do love the original.

So there is a part of me that wants to just go do a little ride and then I'll leave.

Can you imagine? Oh, my gosh.

You're like walking into Splash Mountain and you're like, I have a story about Splash Mountain, actually.

It's

quite the splash.

Yeah, but we dined at the Brown Derby, and he was the guy who was the key designer of – at the time, it was Splash Mountain.

And so we knew all of these cool little Easter eggs and things, like, about – different different parts of it and he would tell the story and it was just really cool so

i love that i i want another um hidden mickey book it's been a while since the steve barnett's released one i don't know if he doesn't do them anymore or he can't or yeah

So I had to walk to the park alone because no one wanted to wait for the new guy.

So now it's 1.45 in the morning and I'm walking on stage in front of the Splash Mountain looking at my cell phone.

As I'm right in front of the Splash Mountain entrance, I look up the hill and see a little girl in what looks like a First Communion dress.

If you don't know what that is, it's like a white robe-y dress.

Why is he always white?

I begin probing by asking her, have you ever seen anything weird at night? And she responds, did you see a girl in a white dress? My blood turned to ice and my stomach dropped.

She had described everything that happened without knowing it happened to me.

Turns out the Splash Mountain attractions, the cast members and Haunted Mansion cast all have similar stories and some of the older cast would share their knowledge Apparently, there was a little girl that everyone calls Mary.

And I think, you know, Michael Eisner was great until there was no more Frank Wells.

So some of the things that I loved about the Michael Eisner era were in the parks, like Splash Mountain came about because of him.

Fantasmic, Toontown, Indiana Jones.

Over at Walt Disney World, you got Typhoon Lagoon.
