To do this, Heston needs a team of sled dogs and he takes Buck into his team.

He also takes in Spitz, an absolute psycho mutt who could give Cujo a run for his money.

Spitz kills several dogs on the team during their journey and so Buck steps up and kills Spitz becoming the new lead dog and alpha of the pack.

Heston takes a shine to Buck and he becomes the goodest boy and gets all the special treatment like little booties and to get to come out of the kennels at night and go to the bar.

When they finally arrive at Dawson's Frozen Ass Creek, Heston and Pete are mobbed for the mail they're carrying and become very popular very quickly.

But always letting the dogs sleep.

Now, we see that Buck's clever, he sees that there are dogs...

He sees Spitz does it and he copies, he's learning and stuff like that.

[laughs] Or even, like, you know, if you think about some of the, like, like, Spitz type dogs, a lot of that hair, unless their hair is really long, a lot of that hair just pops out on its own.

Pops out, yep.

That's kind of where a lot of guys would go.

I didn't get any of the Spitzes.

I love that.

And so, so he says he wants to put this bet on Spitz University.

Yep.

Yeah, obviously I haven't hunted with super many of all the hunting Spitz breeds.

We obviously named majority of them in this episode.

But like, I would say the Swedish elkhound or the jämtland is the baying Spitz breed that wins the most.

Mm-hmm.

Even more so than Laika?
