Eventually, the police issued a media release asking people in town to check their sheds and under their decks, and also identifying an area leading out of town that they thought was important.

They were looking for footage, anybody that had a dash cam or highway footage of a truck driving eastbound Highway 49 towards Spirit River.

Beyond that, there really hadn't been much movement on Cole's case.

So I started asking around, beginning with a local who made it their business to keep up with crime in town.

[coughs]

I had, I had one of my pickup trucks stolen one time, and buddy drove it into a ditch out by Spirit River and destroyed it.

What a butt.

What a bum.
