And from a strict security perspective, her argument is bulletproof.

These devices, like the Ray-Ban Metaglasses or Snap Spectacles, pack high-definition cameras, sensitive microphones, AI processing, and persistent internet connectivity into a form factor that looks virtually identical to a pair of ordinary prescription eyeglasses or sunglasses.

The vulnerability is massive.

Imagine you are handling sensitive government data or proprietary corporate intelligence, or even just having a confidential HR meeting.

Exactly.

The app aggressively scans the local Bluetooth spectrum.

It has a database of the specific signatures used by Ray-Ban Meta, Snap Spectacles, and other covert wearables.

When it detects a match, it alerts the user.

That's also what makes them unsettling.

A new app called Zuckoff, created by Polish developer Paweł Sendowski, uses Bluetooth signals to detect nearby camera-equipped glasses, including Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta, and Snap Spectacles.

It's already attracted thousands of users, reflecting growing concern about people being recorded without knowing it.

The app works by recognizing the digital fingerprints of these glasses broadcast over Bluetooth.

[upbeat music] And finally, as smart glasses become more common, Polish developer Pawel Slidlowski has built an app for people wondering whether someone nearby might be wearing a camera on their face.

Called Zuck Off, the free app detects Bluetooth signals from models including Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta, and Snap Spectacles using different fingerprints Slidlowski created by testing the hardware himself.

The app arrives amid growing concerns about covert recording.

Some smart glasses' recording lights can be defeated with tape, while a BBC investigation found footage captured with Meta glasses being posted online without subjects' consent.

Um, so it kind of feels like an old fashioned for like, if for all we talk about future tech, it's an old fashioned form for a boundary breaking.

We're in a season where I'm looking at devices, including snap specs and X real aura, where all these things feel like they're kind of melting the forms.

They are.

But let's start with the news, the big launch of the Snap Specs yesterday.

Uh, I guess people who pre-ordered the $2,200 headset will be getting them, uh, in the next couple of weeks, and certainly, uh, the people at the Snap event got a good 40 minutes each with the device, at least those of us with the press.

And I have to say, I came away pretty impressed.

Pretty complicated name for a simple thing.

It's just Hack the Snap Spectacles, and it was great teams.

All devices have been in the teams and working hard with great... mentors and jury members, and everybody was very happy.

That's, I guess, what every event organizer has to say about this event, but I believe it's real.

Hopefully she'll touch on it a little bit about her history in game development and Kelly Vero.

She now has a startup using AI for your fashion, basically for digital fashion.

And then we have Kansu from an agency working a lot with the Snap Spectacles already, so they have a lot of practical experience bringing in.

And these people, they combine really a lot of theoretical knowledge about this, but also working with this kind of stuff for many years already.

But alongside waves of videos showing men harassing women in public, the company's partners, Ray-Ban and Oakley, have succeeded where other smart glasses endeavors, like Google Glasses, they were the thing for a short period.

And what was the other? Snapchat Glasses, I guess, was the other one.

Last year, Meta sold more than 7 million pairs because you got a premium frame there and stuff.

More than triple the 2 million sold in 2023 and 2024.

But how did, how did it feel on your face? I mean, you, you tried different AR glasses in your career, I guess.

Um, I guess compared to the Snap Spectacles 2024, um, it should have been way more comfortable.

What was your personal impression here?

Yeah, I mean, pretty comfy.
