Space Ghost

I did it.

And now Space Ghost, Ghost of Ghosts.

[singing] Greetings, I'm Space... [laughs] Jesus H.

What was all of that? What was all of that? Hi, everybody.

[upbeat music] Uh, uh, ahh, uh, uh, ahh.

Hi, I'm Space Ghost.

[laughs] Why the fuck am I saying that to y'all? [laughs]

And, um, it's not, it's not about that.

And I'm, I remember when I was a little kid, I used to watch the cartoon called Space Ghost.

And that shows how old I am.

But Space Ghost was great, and he would fight alien monsters and threats.

And he had these wristbands that had a bunch of buttons on them.

And the buttons could do – he had different rays for different things.

You can kind of get the sense of his character, his moral values and, Um, the introduction of carpet was neat and the coloring was nice because carpet is this like bright pink and blue and stuff and everything else is so muted and grungy and it's just, it's a nice contrast.

Um, But one thing I was kind of – I was hoping when I first opened that first page and you see Kilguth the Devourer, I'm like, could have used some form of Brack from Space Ghost.

I mean just have some kind of sly little mention there.

That would have been great.

I talk all the time about how it's just such a great superhero adventure book.

Every issue is a fun adventure, but also dealing with the kind of stakes that come with being a superhero, especially with Space Ghost's, uh, young sidekicks, Jan and Jace.

Throughout v- both volume one and volume two, we've seen them really grow into the whole superhero sidekick role, but also have to face the hard things that come with being a superhero, like not being able to save everybody.

And again, just such a great run and such a great series exploring these characters.

And so this issue, issue 12, kind of brings everything to a climax, quickly setting it up for everyone.

We were just dealing with this whole crazy story with a new villain called Tempest, who has been going through the multiverse and killing Space Ghosts all through, again, every universe that he basically exists in.

So Space Ghost, Jan, Jace, and a future version of Jace, who was revealed to be Space Spectre, they all obviously go and try and stop him.

Big, big fight ensues, all these supervillains.

... yeah, for Space Jam people, and, like, people who are fans of just anything under the Warner Brothers IP umbrella.

There's that whole ending scene of them playing basketball, and there's, like, fucking Sopranos characters in the background, and Pennywise is there, and, like, Space Ghost is flying around, and the Scooby-Doo gang is there.

Like, it, it's weird.

It's a weird fucking movie that's just, again, designed in a lab.

Adventure in the prehistoric land of the Lost Valley with Dino Boy.

Adventure in the world of tomorrow with the Space Ghost before your eyes see the fantastic come to life.

We are going to be reviewing the first season and second season of the Space Ghost.

which is an interesting thing for the star of the show himself to call it.

It is his 60th anniversary, so we'll spend the next five or six weeks talking about Space Ghost, which is exciting to me.

Now, what's, what's better than seeing Steve Grogan, the little photo of him, and he throws the little f- like in Action PC, you see that little football, and he hits Stanley Morgan, the Road Runner, and Morgan's going coast to coast like Space Ghost in like Flynn, the Nesty Plunge.

But when you, when you have on the screen, like, the helmet logos or even the uniform logos, y- you, you...

On the screen, you get X's and O's, at least in Action PC.

Yes.

They also remind me of the Mantis dude from Space Ghost.

Okay.

After the fight, it's like, oh no, Judge Fargo, not Judge Fargo, Joe Fargo is going to get done in by a big sword, but then he is saved by that alien getting shot, and it's giant, he's got there just in time, and he's like, you've got a lot of explaining to do, old man.

And then she's immediately like, you're lying.

It was the fucking ghost.

It was the space ghost.

And then she's like, oh no, I can see something off screen that you can't see.
