Space Dandy

I don't have any other context to it.

That sounds like something that would have been in Space Dandy.

Honestly, yeah.

I do feel like there's some thematic overlap in terms of the sci-fi out of this wacky stuff going on.

So I like the shift because it's a different way to expose or to showcase the um their character and their personalities in a visual medium instead of just like dialogue and so um i'm a huge fan of it the art styles like this like never affect me never change like my opinion on the show if anything it only changes it for the better it's like when we watch something along the lines of like keep your hands off izokan where the animation is beautiful the art style is a little avant-garde-esque and so i can see why people don't necessarily like the shift um going forward in some of the other episodes but to me i think it's cool i think it's a different way to showcase the the storytelling of the show and you can do that in multiple different ways in this medium so i'm a big fan and then throughout the show whenever it popped up if it's like a quick snippet or something like that it's just fun like we watch this to be entertained and like i guess if you don't find it fun then you probably hate it but i find it fun so i loved it i

really enjoyed the art shift for this sort of thing i've always been somebody who's into like weird stuff like that like i mean look at space dandy it did the same thing with having different directors every episode and i loved that The second season of Space Dandy does it incredibly as well.

I don't even really think it's that noticeable in Botan apart from Episode 3.

Like, its presence is felt, but it's in very subtle but deliberate ways versus Episode 3 where, like, I remember it was when they showed hands for the first time.

don't know for sure i'm guessing it's my guess would be kind of like space dandy different directors same staff throughout the episode maybe you know interchangeable freelance artists here and there but i i bet it's the same staff for all 12 episodes minus the director

Well, again, you would hope so.

Not all of them I suppose, but for some of them I was like, "Wow." Again, I think of the Marines.

I really like the sort of Space Dandy I call them.

The people in the, what I assume are white jumpsuits with, like, the black lines.

Yeah.

I just felt like it was like the most respectful way to honor the properties that you're licensing.

Though I will say with stuff like Space Dandy, like I could never imagine even a couple of years after they did it for them to put in like a boobies trucker hat with the Space Dandy collector's edition.

And my wife wore that for years, you know.

I don't like the fanservice in Kill la Kill.

I still like Kill la Kill more than I like Space Dandy.

Partly because I think women are cooler than men.

And I always shout out Shinichiro Watanabe because he made two of my all-time favorite anime series, Bebop, Samurai Champloo.

I don't like Space Dandy.
