And he tells his team long before they play the Russians, you don't beat them by containing them.

You beat them by attacking them.

And I think that's what Iowa has to do in this ballgame today, Coach.

That was pretty common.

And you'll even remember, and I know Beggs, you'll remember, maybe Sharps, you're a little younger, but in the 72 series, the Russians came in, they trained 12 months of the year.

And the first four games in Canada, they won two, tied one, and lost one.

But the conditioning was so much better than Team Canada, who basically showed up 10 days or two weeks before camp to get into shape, you know, to play them.

But by the end of the month, after playing some exhibition games in Sweden, Team Canada caught up with them.

So I've always sort of marveled at that, how now, you know, we've become the Russians in the sense that guys train 11, 12 months out of the year.

And yet you go back to that series in 72, it took them three weeks to catch up, which I think is kind of amazing.
