He was 18 years old.

He was from Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and he played football at Southwest Mississippi Community College.

He had been a multi-sport athlete at Ocean Sports High School.

He was very popular.

And, and I have to be just like I talked about with interview preparation.

You know, if I'm just cramming for the test, if I'm just going to Southwest Mississippi or I'm going to, you know, Duke, it doesn't matter if I'm just cramming for the test and, and all of a sudden I'm just going to wing it on the, you know, I'm just going to prepare something on the plane traveling to you guys and then just wing it.

You know, that's that's not going to be as effective, obviously.

But if I'm constantly today working on how can I be a better leader to my family? How can I be a better be more wise in the way that I answer emails, be more wise in the way the things I put on social media? How can I be better personally? Now that's going to then pour out.

Nolan played football.

He was attending Southwest Mississippi Community College, where he played wide receiver.

And I say that to say, you know, this was a college athlete.

So he was in good shape.

Yeah.

So Nolan graduated from Ocean Springs High School in 2025, and then attended Southwest Mississippi Community College, where he played football.

He was described as being a loving and outgoing young man who loved playing football.

On the 3rd of July, 2026, Nolan made dinner for his family before saying goodbye to his mum.

Story one.

Nolan Xavier Wells, 18 years old, wide receiver at Southwest Mississippi Community College.

On the 4th of July, he went out on a boat to Horn Island with white friends from high school.

He didn't come back.
