And this has been going on for a while.

Two men were jailed at Southwark Crown Court in 2024 for paying £26 million into post offices in London and Manchester before their arrests in 2017.

Students have been jailed in Scotland for paying criminal money into post offices and there are other ongoing cases in which similar crimes are alleged.

If it wasn't for what has been going on elsewhere in the post office, this would be a major story.

A deeply ingrained belief may be reinforced by that whole light touch environment and the constant praise he got for making money, regardless of how.

His trial at Southwark Crown Court sounds like it was tough going for the defense.

Yeah, the building itself is described as an eyesore.

And the judge seemed, well, unsympathetic to Hayes from the start, calling the case open and shut, referring to Hayes as a gambler.

The judge in the case at Southwark Crown Court summed up Malcolm Pottier's behaviour as extreme and horrific and concerning.

But this ordeal was sort of a lot more scary for Kirsty, the woman who had been sort of strangled, than you think.

Because the judge said when sentencing Malcolm Pottier that, quote, "...there is not a pattern of offending established..." But there is a common thread of dominance, control and lack of accountability.

That is absolutely lovely.

And we should definitely go.

And we should say Malcolm himself in that latest case, that throttling case, sentenced to two years in prison at Southwark Crown Court.

And very recently, at the time of recording, that was three days ago.

So I said goodbye to my son, dropped him at nursery on Monday, the 3rd of August.

I was in a cell under Southwark Crown Court by 4 p.m. that day.

And he disappeared from his life.

And I remember his first prison visit.

So there is now a new trial date, and that date is the 12th of October.

That is imminent at the Southwark Crown Court in London.

Imminent.

We're talking about four weeks away.

Now to market abuse news, and there's quite a bit of it this week.

City lawyer Richard Bloomfield has pleaded not guilty at Southwark Crown Court to five counts of insider dealing brought by the Financial Conduct Authority.

The FCA alleges that Bloomfield used confidential inside information obtained while advising on the proposed acquisition of London-listed maternity fashion brand Seraphine Group, to buy and sell shares on five separate occasions between March 2022 and January 2023.

Authorities confirmed that neither Serafin nor the law firm involved are subject to investigation.

Um, uh, I, I do also still wanna talk about, just, just finally, that Churchill statue in Parliament Square.

The man who vandalized it was found not guilty on Monday of criminal damage at Southwark Crown Court, which is just down the road from here.

Um, uh, I, I served as a juror in Southwark Crown...

in, in, uh, in, uh, Southwark.

So it was pretty quiet.

And actually, you know, Southwark Crown Court, it's quite similar visually to a lot of other courtrooms across the UK.

So you've got these very dated red fabric chairs, like wooden benches.

And I guess, you know, it's sort of emphasised that what it all comes down to is Russell Brand is just a defendant like any other that would go into court and be tried.

We're a few weeks away from all of that properly starting.

So the trial begins on the 12th of October at Southwark Crown Court.

It's scheduled to last eight weeks.
