But first, in the studio is Dr. Christie Johnson, Director of Dance at North Carolina Central University.

And I must get it out there early, Dr. Christie Johnson was a member of the fabulous Dancing Dolls of Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Christie, welcome to Due South.

Thank you for having me.

Now, you know I had to get that out there early.

I'm a big fan [laughs] of the Prancing J-Settes of Jackson State, but I love the Dancing Dolls, the real showstoppers in the Southern University marching band known as the Human Jukebox.

Can you take us back to 1995 when you performed with the Dancing Dolls?

In 1995, um, I had a chance to pursue a huge dream, which was to audition for the Dancing Dolls.
