I'm thinking about Southern football a little bit, 'cause Southern actually got a win, which doesn't usually happen when LSU loses and Southern wins.

It's usually they both lose at the same time.

Yeah.

They, they pulled it out, and I know that felt pretty sweet to do it at home.

No, no doubt about it.

It is another game day, as you can see behind me, Southern versus Prairie View, for those that are watching.

If you're listening, you just hear me.

Went down to Baton Rouge.

Tough environment, uh, nearly 30,000 people, and they put it on the Jaguars.

Congratulations Coach Hampton and that group.

41 to 10 evens their record at one and one.

They are mad.

that they lost that game because they know respectfully they know that they were the better team they just got outplayed and coach Barry even said it but he said and I quote a hundred percent he said and I quote we all gonna go through adversity you know whenever teams like us are running the ball and they're playing us they know that we're gonna so we got to go through the storm like he was encouraging them you know it's okay to be like yeah yeah it's a bad loss but you know we got to learn how to lose too and so I'm gonna have to say I don't know how you're gonna attack next week I'm pretty sure gonna clean everything up with coach Barry but off that film I would say a lot of runs be heavy in your run game and then get into the play action game because once you're able to bring those linebackers in and those safeties in you can get a lot of stuff over the top and make sure that you have a mobile quarterback because they was getting so they had four sacks they had four sacks they was getting in the backfield it just whenever they needed that big defensive play they couldn't get they couldn't make tackles but like I said a lot of that is just discipline it's just a lot of discipline within that so I don't know if coach Barry's gonna continue that happen next week versus Charleston Southern so it's like how do I attack them I don't know because coach Barry's definitely gonna clean that up but I would say definitely try to play action game get downhill and run the ball for sure

Yeah, so, uh, you know, Prairie View, okay, first game they played Charleston State and they lost, but it was, you know, respectful in there for one of the best teams.

Then they beat up on Texas Southern, and people were like, "Okay, yeah, this is that team." And of course, you know, you got Baylor and you got some other games, and they just have yet to regain that, uh, like you said last week even with the State Fair Classic, they have yet to regain that swagger.

Now the good thing for them is, if you're gonna lo- I know it sounds crazy, I know it sounds crazy, but if you're going to lose a game to somebody, well, hell, for one, it's in the East.

Yeah, whatever.

My favorite team, Jackson State beat up on Southern.

They stay perfect.

Tigers move on to 4-0 and open the SWAC play with a win over Southern.

Homecoming's coming.

I'm going to be there.

I mean, I'm grambling 21 to 14.

So, you know, big win for Prairie View out there at the State Fair Classic.

Bill Blunt in prime pursuit, aided by Andy Russell.

Blunt, the five-year veteran from Southern U, 6'3", 205 pounds.

Southern played rambling on Saturday on this field here, and they grew a tremendous crowd of supporters for this big game.

Southern football classic, Grambling won a 21-0 before 74,000 people.

... uh, you know, they got the Red River classic earlier the first of the year where Oklahoma played Grambling.

You have Grambling playing Southern in the, uh, the Bayou Classic, which is, you know, in November.

That is a classic.

Right now people are gonna start going into their, their conference schedules.

It is a, a humongous rivalry.

Uh, and it, you know, it, it stay- still stays there with just the names on the schools.

Jackson State playing Southern.

Jackson State won the game 38-17.

So, I need y'all to tell me.

Southern beat, oh, do we have some action? Oh, no, okay.

Southern beat Louisiana Christian, 50-31.

Y'all not winning against Jackson State, I'm going to tell you that.

And then Prairie View lost to Stephen F. Austin, 31-10.

South Carolina State, which surprised me because South Carolina State and Furman are pretty well supported programs at less than 10K.

And then we had Central at Gardner-Webb, both North Carolina teams at 5K.

And then Jackson State, that really surprised me because Jackson State shows up against Tuskegee, 4.5K. And then Texas Southern against Wright at 4K.
