Southern Culture on the Skids

You can probably tell it was a little bit different, a little off, right? The one they released was the better one, obviously, but that's a little different one to kind of mix it up.

We got a suggestion for some Southern culture on the skids.

I've got a cool cut from their 2011 disc.

I believe they self-released this on their own Kudzu record label.

They recorded that one in 61 on Cometa Records there.

Zombie by Los Sleepers.

And then we had Southern Culture on the skids, by suggestion, with Zombified.

Fun little tune for you folks to enjoy as we have a spooky time here on Boot Cap Boo, the Spookabilly Show.

So I don't know that it would be that psychobilly, but...

Southern culture on the skids put out dirt track date.

That's pretty much just a rockabilly record.

Like

Mojo Nixon, not even really Psychobilly, really more of a cowboy punk guy, put out Whereabouts Unknown.

Flat Duo Jets, again, introducing the Flat Duo Jets, Rockabilly, Garage Rock.

It's, you know, it's just that retro thing, which Southern Culture on the skids and Flat Duo Jets, those are both North Carolina bands.

Yeah.

cramps.

Southern Culture on the Skids.

Ah, okay.

A particularly nice version.

Yeah, I

did.

I started off with Southern Culture on the Skids.

That's the one.

You don't think there's any way I can get that quarter from underneath of your pointy boot, do you? All I want is just one more oatmeal.

Southern culture on the skids with Camel Walk from their 1995 release Dirt Track Date.

They first recorded that song in 1991, releasing it on an EP the following year.

Singer and guitarist Rick Miller has said they needed a few more songs for Dirt Track Date, so they gave Camel Walk another go.

Okay.

Uh, number 10, Scott's, Southern Culture on the Skids, in 2004.

It was so good.

I wish I could've gotten to see them sooner or more often, like, kinda like you said about, um-

Um, another name cha- you know, we have, like, our Thomas maybe of the Peen League with the name changes.

Um, uh, S- Spencer has now changed his name to Southern Culture on the Skids.

I don't know if that's, is that a, is that a famous movie someone in here-

I have no idea [laughs]

Mm, me too

... kudos to Zach.

Uh, and then Southern Culture on the Skids, uh, uh, and Amberger's make a trade.

Ja'Marr Chase and Javonte Williams swap.
