yeah so we always knew that we kind of really wanted to be on this 45th parallel but it took us you know a number of years to find this this site that we've we've got now and uh yeah so probably yeah we i moved down about six years ago so it was it was probably about seven or eight years ago that we we found the site and it was you know essentially a you know it's a 36 hectare um you know beautiful piece of land that's sort of perched up on the side of a mountain overlooking lake dunstan and and the pizer um mountain range which are covered with snow at the moment which is good to see and um yeah right on that uh on that 45th parallel so that was kind of it was you know the location for aging single malt whiskey was was one of the reasons we moved down here um we've got a really good water source you know the water source is essentially all off the southern alps you know flows into lake wanaka down the clutha river and that's the water source that we use in all our spirits and you know you need a really good quality water source for um creating good spirits um Um, we, we needed a, you know, a big site that we could, um, you know, we could essentially grow and develop and expand, you know, over the years and never have to move essentially.

well the pukeko is very similar to the takahe they come from the same family of rails here in new zealand um the pukeko is a lot more common than the takahe lives on in kind of swamps and stuff so people see them a lot more throughout the country but takahe live in the Southern Alps of New Zealand.
