Southend United F.C.

I used to work in gyms, so personal training, group fitness, uh, gym instructor, and then go and coach in the evenings.

Always with that pursuit of trying to establish yourself a- and get that full-time opportunity, which I got at Southend United, which is my most local professional football club.

Um, and in the years following that- Managed to progress into what we call category one academies.

So I spent four years at Arsenal, um, a season at, at Watford, and then, um, four and a half years at Crystal Palace, um, as a head of coaching for the foundation phase.

It's time to look ahead to the first of two back-to-back home games coming up in the next few days.

Well, I was born at home.

Stadium was literally, I could see it out of my old bedroom window.

And we play Southend United, and if they come and beat them 18-1, like, that should never happen.

Um, and yeah, I'm sort of, sort of losing track, but, um, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it is a tricky one to manage, and we've found that, you know, a lot of people will be like, you know, "If you're going to just dipping in and out of clubs, you're only going for one game, and you're taking the seats away from a season ticket holder," and, you know, you hear a lot of stuff in the Premier League now over, you know, they don't want football tourists, you know, the, the, the, the core fans, and I under- you know, I, I completely understand that, you know.
