Southeastern University

It's in Georgia, and it's grown 233% over the past decade.

Campbellsville College has also posted 216% growth, Southeastern University 200% growth, and Columbia International University 164% growth.

Now, these outliers are responsible for almost all of the growth that we have seen.

It has not been a growth that has gone across the board.

Yeah, this whole thing is an interesting discussion.

And I go back, I've never mentioned it on here, but I had a kind of a background in criminal justice, criminology, and taught a class called Criminal Justice and the Christian at Southeastern University.

And the whole idea was when the president heard my education background, he was like, man, could you create a class on crime and punishment through Christ's eyes? And it's like, well, yeah, it sounds fascinating.

But I even look back, I think even just at my understanding 20 years ago, and I look at it now, and a lot of what would cause strife in that class was we'd start talking about justice.

Yeah, Brentwood, Tennessee.

In Florida, in Lakeland, Florida, to facilitate the degree program.

I mean, I told them, I said, I got some money for school.

So, and I had gone to, um, Southeastern university, which is a private Christian college in Lakeland, Florida.

And

it's expensive.

And I'm thrilled to be joined by the author of a new book, The Way of the Spirit, Recognizing and Responding to God's Subtle Movements.

He is a professor of spiritual formation at Southeastern University.

Jeremy, how are you doing today?

I don't know what...

You know, you could say Asbury was one at SEU, Southeastern University in Florida last year.

Unbelievable.

And I wasn't there.

Then you have to launch out and all these other things.

He'd done missions forever, and then all of a sudden a university calls him and says, "We want you to be the president of Southeastern University." And then ORU calls him and says, "We want you to be the president of ORU." If you say, "I'm never leaving Southeastern," then you never become the president of ORU.

You say to yourself, "I'm never gonna be the president of a college." Okay, me either.

But there's something for each of us.

It was just a rough, I don't know.

I just needed to take a walk and I took a walk and I listened to that song by SEU, the new one, the cost is a joy.

And then, Tuesday night we had the Priscilla project and she was talking about the cost of following Christ.

And if it's not, if it doesn't feel like it's costing you anything, are you really following Christ? Like if it's comfortable and it's easy and man on that walk, I just was like wanting to stop defeat and just annoyance and sit in the annoyance.
