South Norwood

I mean, I, I got really lucky.

I grew up in, um, I grew up in South Norwood, half a mile from Selhurst Park.

Um, went to the local primary school.

The kid in the year below...

... you know, if the, if the door opens, you've gotta push against it and force your way through and then make the best of the opportunity, and that, that's really what I did.

But it could easily have, have gone completely differently, you know.

I was just a kid from South Norwood and, um, sort of, yeah, I'm, I'm very lucky and very grateful for, for how it all went really.

Uh, on that point you just made, I totally agree.

First thing to get straight, the town and the borough aren't interchangeable.

The borough takes in places such as Purley, Coulsdon, Kenley, Thornton Heath, New Addington, and South Norwood, a whole collection of Londons under one administrative roof.

And at its southern end, London begins to loosen its collar.

There's room, there's green.
