He didn't, he did not lock up the title, but set himself up in a great position in a couple weeks at South Boston for the championship, as Walters now leads Conner Jones by 13 points, who finished second on Saturday night behind Walters.

But ZMAX Car Store will conclude their 2026 season on October 17th at South Boston Speedway in Virginia.

But next year's definitely close as, uh, well, the 2027 Car Store schedule's been released.

Well, going from dirt to, uh, pavement, uh, at that point in your career had to have been a, you know, a pretty big jump, but going between the two tracks that were so different that you accumulated points on, your home track at Langley, Virginia, basically flat, and the high banks, uh, so to speak, of South Boston Speedway, how, how do you make that work back and forth across, you know, making sure that the parts and pieces are in the right place and that the driver is comfortable in such a transitional, uh, situation from flat one week to, uh, banking the next and back again to flat? How does that all work?

Yeah, it's tough, but it's nice having Mark Wertz and, uh, Chris Edwards at the shop, uh, 'cause we normally, we typically show up at the racetrack pretty close, so it's nice doing that and we can make little adjustments.

And, uh, South Boston's a pretty, uh, race position, racetrack unique pos- a unique track position there, and, uh, if you don't got that, uh, it's pretty tough to pass.

And we figured out how to find short speed there, and that's helped us big in, in this points deal, just being able to go to different places and have speed like that.

Well, you know, at Langley certainly you would, you would know the track and, and the people would know you.

How did you earn respect at a track that demands respect at South Boston Speedway, a, a track where kinda Langley guys are the, are the bad guys and they're the good guys, so to speak, in their minds a- and such? How do, how do you earn that respect over there at South Boston?

Oh, yeah, man, I definitely had to earn it.
