yeah a lot of early on like it is it is a pretty brutal game which of course because i am a sicko as we've previously established i love like there's something so deeply freeing about just dying to both big bosses and lobbies so quick where i'm just like oh okay well in that case i've got nothing to lose like i can go wherever i want i can jam it i can run i can you know face things off or not like it doesn't matter so i i you know i love that that's great This game also introduces sidearms, which are right now basically ranged weapons that you can fire against your enemies with various effects, various sizes.

And those firearms do not have a ammunition system that likes of traditional Soulsborne, but is instead refill based upon your melee attacks.

That I think it's called Resolve.

is also how you use other certain abilities, like a charged heavy attack, for example.

Not the case in Mortal Shell 2.

You can spam attacks as much as you like.

However, just like a normal Soulsborne, it locks you into those animations.

You can't really cancel out of them.

I'm not going to be playing that for a long time.

I'm good with Souls-likes and Soulsborne.

Is there a standout of the Soulsborne, so to speak?

Probably Bloodborne, I think.

But if it's something more recent, Evolve, which was not very popular, but I have like 2,000 hours to this game.

It's like a Soulsborne kinda fight, isn't it?

There's so much to it.

Bloodborne was my first Soulsborne game.

And just the way that that one happened, it always is going to kind of, I think, hold the top spot just because it was my first.

And I can't accurately... gauge something else against that um so and also you know what when i come down to it no you know like i said i don't really like open world games so like this is an exception and i love it but the linear bloodborne is gonna be over the open world elden ring um

dilly dallying.

And in Soulsborne games, there's always like, I don't know, just like kind of a death run where you just like, you know, you're going to die.

You're just running to clear the area and pick up all the items.

So if you play this as a, "I am, when I get a main mission, I'm just gonna do the main mission game," you'll probably have a much better time.

But as someone who ha- who was, like, dipping their toes in all of it and wanted to see the whole breadth of that game, it becomes much weaker when all that stuff's in it, and I just hope that if they get another run at this, they learn from that and maybe even make it a, a, a Soulsborne-type game where it is a...

It's not like a hub open world where you travel to different missions.

It's more just of a continuous kind of open areas where-
