Soul Coughing

This time on Soundcheck, Mike Doty founded the alternative rock band Soul Coughing back in the 90s and has gone on to have a prolific solo career.

He also founded another group called Ghost of Vroom, and even he has trouble keeping track of which songs belong to which part of his career.

Fortunately, that doesn't stop him from playing them live.

Mike Doty is probably still best known as the frontman of the alternative rock band Soul Coughing, which recently reunited.

But Doty has done so many other things.

Since 2000, he's had a prolific solo career, started another band called Ghost of Vroom, published two memoirs, and written an oratorio based on the biblical Book of Revelations, which was staged downstairs in the green space, our ground floor performance room.

I'm trying to think of the weirdest record I would have been listening to at the time.

Who even knows? It was probably that Eloso record from Soul Coughing.
