Oh, yeah, Sothis is back.

We didn't really talk about that.

She has a lot going on in the beginning.

Um, a lot of, like, very creepy stuff with her where I was just like, "Oh-

Mm-hmm.

Uh, I know S- you know, Sothis is clearly d- behind a lot of this, right, which is the, one of the antagonists of, of, of, of Three Houses and, and previous Fire Emblems.

But, like, wh- when I, when I turned it on and there's some, like, a Caribbean chick with all these col- this colorful hair and, like, it looks like a Monster Hunter character, I'm like, "What is...

What's happening here?" Like, I feel like I'm playing...

You know what I mean?

Basically, the main character from Three Houses was stillborn, and they took the heart of Sothis and put it into the stillborn child, and that's how you're alive.

So like, that's why you see Sothis in your brain.

Okay.

Is that you have the, you basically have that person's heart.

And the reason that you have that person's heart is because the person who put that in you wanted, wanted Sothis

back.

So that was how they did it.

All of Fabio's dialogue is that, and I'm just, I think I'm just going to go ahead and start with somebody else.

I recognize Sothis when, when she first came out at the beginning of that game.

Yeah, that's about it so far.

As soon as I saw her, I was like, Oh, there's Sothis.

will say though that I appreciate about Fabio that his face and the thing that his eyes do it looks like when a cartoon frog gets squashed oh

So there are some things that, that this game has in common.

Sothis, which is, uh, the, the dragon character that was, uh, that was Byleth's...

Like hanging out with Byleth for, for a while in, in Three Houses, she is back.

She is, she shows up in this game and she looks older.

Again, she's a god, maybe she can just change her, her shape at will, but she looks like an older version of Sothis.

Um, and, and so the game has a time travel-y aspect to it as well, which makes it very difficult to determine, you know, where and when this exactly takes place.

But y- the character that you make at the beginning of the game is, i- i- is like a completely brand-new character maybe? I, I don't know.

So the, while the, the game mostly takes place in this, uh, you know, Mediterranean style, like Roman city of Dagseyen, where there's heroic games going on and this kinda coliseum thing, and, you know, whoever wins gets a wish granted by the, the god who, who runs the whole place.

Uh, mine's XXAngel.

Um, so, like, you have this whole opening that's, like, an hour and a half, and you're meeting these handful of characters, including the Goddess of Fate, Fortuna, um, who is sort of this game's Sothis, although Sothis is also back.

Real quick, like, footnote, uh, I think this game is, like, very classy in its restraint being too connected to Three Houses.

Like, outside of one or two characters and some recurring music choices, which really brought me back-

Um, that said, I think if you play this and you wanna go...

If you haven't played Three Houses and you wanna go backwards, I think you'll have the same fun moments of, of, like, "Oh, I recognize that song," and, "Oh my God, it's Sothis." You know?

Yeah.

But then what happens is the game then...

And if you remember how Three Houses started where Sothis is there and she sort of brings who ends up being Byleth into existence and everything, that kind of ends up happening this time too, but the difference is you end up incarnating in the body of basically what is a bat-grown clone of someone.

It's literally like you're in... like a machine and there's like these futuristic computers on the wall.

Uh, you later find out that the fat you were grown in is inside a literal spaceship that has basically been buried underneath the sand.

I need some concrete evidence that wishes have come true before I decide to enter the tournament.

But before all that, the game takes place actually five years into the future where demons have conquered the land and the avatar character is an angel summoned by Sothis and a different goddess named Fortuna helps you go back in time and recruit the Heroic Games heroes in order to defeat the evil in the future.

Fortuna explains the extent of time travel, but you get the, why don't they just go back to when the bad guy was a baby conundrum? If the baby thing is an issue, just go back to when they turned 18 and thus were a legal adult.

So if you thought the game starts with picking one of the four characters, then going to town, hold your horses.
