Soo Locks

This is an extremely dangerous area due to so many reefs and it's presumed the ship couldn't find its way once the lighthouse on the island had gone off.

This phantom vessel is spotted most often between Port Arthur, Michigan and the Soo Locks between Lakes Superior and Huron.

Now let's move on to another infamous disappearance and ghostly reappearance of a long lost vessel in the Great Lakes.

We're tracking about $6.6 billion of capital investment at the moment.

Of course, part of that is the Soo Locks, but beyond that, there's significant investment that's either, uh, ongoing or, uh, or, um, planned.

And so it's, it's been a real great opportunity for the economy in the Upper Peninsula.

Yeah, I was talking to a friend of yours the other day who you probably had a lot of experience with in the past, uh, Admiral Fred Midgett, who, uh, used to run the, uh, Great Lakes for the, uh, Coast Guard and did all the icebreakers.

And then I'm hearing the, the doors slamming and the, the burning r- of tires because all these police officers are from downriver, which is down around the Detroit area.

And the whole thing is, if you think about Michigan, we have the Soo Locks, we have the Mackinac Bridge.

Mm-hmm.

We have the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel.
