I think, like, the day the episode released
LucasHOST
55:11
... l- the, the day it came out Sony comes out here, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, and releases a G Master 600 millimeter F6.3 lens that is roughly the same price and lighter than the APS-C-
DanielHOST
55:30
Yeah
LucasHOST
55:30
...
DanielHOST
57:12
Absolutely.
LucasHOST
57:13
And so Sony over here is trying to, like, carve out that middle ground.
LucasHOST
57:18
What if we had better image quality? But we didn't, it wasn't, we're not talking Sony FE 600 millimeter F4 G Master OSS for $13,000.
LucasHOST
57:29
We're talking, you know, maybe it's a little slower.
Tikii TillmanGUEST
12:05
My 85, I love my 85.
Tikii TillmanGUEST
12:07
It's a G Master.
Tikii TillmanGUEST
12:08
I'll put that thing.
Tikii TillmanGUEST
12:09
I'll shoot it at F8.

This is where I give Sony-
Fred SilvaHOST
45:46
Yeah
Tikii TillmanGUEST
45:46
... or the Sony g- the Sony gang, we got those G Master lenses that just-
Fred SilvaHOST
45:51
Oh man, they're amazing.
MartyHOST
27:09
Yeah, and I'm very similar to what you've got as well.
MartyHOST
27:12
So I'm sticking to pretty much 90% obviously Sony G Master lenses.
MartyHOST
27:20
And I feel like they are the best sort of all-arounders.
MartyHOST
27:25
And then there's obviously a few that I, yeah, so I do have, okay, so my main one that I use on the gimbal is the 16-35, which is 2.8.

MartyHOST

I don't know.
MartyHOST
53:54
Have a quick look.
MartyHOST
53:54
I mean, you know, if you type in 50 to 150 Sony G Master, you will actually look at it and go, oh, yeah, that's an interesting lens.
MartyHOST
54:03
Which is the focal length is kind of a bit weird as well because not a lot of people are kind of used to it.
Ethan BurhamGUEST
7:53
And so it works very much similar and you might have a few drawbacks here and there, but you know, for the price jump, it might not be worth it for you.
Ethan BurhamGUEST
8:03
and so um there's a couple of lenses that i started off with that i worked with that you know were ef lenses and even like you know some of the rf stuff that they have they have kind of two tiers of rf they have like their normal rf and then they have their rfl which is like their uh you know g master series or anything like that where you just have like the Really nice glass with, you know, weather sealed and everything and all the bells and whistles they like to make you pay for.
JonathanHOST
8:35
Yeah, yeah, for sure.
JonathanHOST
8:36
And honestly, though, I will say, I mean, it sucks how much it costs, but you really do get what you pay for.
JonathanHOST
8:52
There's kind of that middle road where you get a lot of the bells and whistles.
JonathanHOST
8:55
You get a lot of the good stuff.
JonathanHOST
8:57
and you're still paying for what you get, and then you get into that higher tier, like you were talking about the G Master or the, in Canon, you said the RFL lenses, where you're paying, it feels like, anyway, you're paying a lot more for the little gains that you're going to get out of it.
JonathanHOST
9:13
But those little gains could be super important to someone who is a professional photographer or constantly out in the woods.
