Sonification

Lorenzo shared some of his sonifications with us, and we discussed how sound can help us develop an intuition for what gravitational waves actually are.

Along the way, this episode showed us that sound can become a powerful tool for understanding phenomena that are otherwise difficult or even impossible to experience directly.

Sonifications offer us another way of exploring science, different from the visual way that we are most used to.

They remind us that there is never just one way to observe, understand or connect with the world around us.

If we look back, over the past episodes we've travelled together from the Sun, to the planets of our solar system, to the stars and exoplanets in our Milky Way galaxy, and today, in our final expedition, we went far beyond our galaxy, into the vast expanses of space.
