Sonic the Hedgehog

Wasn't I just at Green Hills fighting Robotnik?

Green Hills fighting Robotnik? Oh, then you, ah, yes, you must be Sonic the Hedgehog.

Um, you caught into that?

Yeah, I did.

Hope you can join us for another story tomorrow.

Finally, my portal rings are working again.

And their feet were literally like pinwheeling and like looked like they were in a pinwheel, just like a straight up circular animation.

Like Sonic the Hedgehog.

They're chasing each other.

Yeah.

But before we get there, I want to talk about some of the old games.

My challenge question to you guys is what is the greatest superhero game of all time? Sonic the Hedgehog.

Is Sonic a superhero? Is that how that works?

He'll always be a hero to me, man.

Okay, I guess what I'm trying to do is I'm just trying to understand where we draw the line at what is a superhero and what isn't.

So if you're saying that Hawkeye is a superhero just because he appears in the Marvel comics and in the Marvel movies, then that kind of really lowers the bar on what a superhero is for the purpose of this episode.

So Sonic the Hedgehog is a superhero if you're going to class Hawkeye as a superhero because he's got

super speed.

Well, Eric, we got sidetracked there for a little bit, didn't we? Right, the little Jack took off, and then you wanted to go fight a pistol? Am I remembering this correctly from last week?

and a cheerful one nevertheless.

So let's go from Huijin Park and covering it, obviously that stage from Sonic 1.

I mean...

When I'm saying Sega things, it's just Oops! Old Sonic.

What am I on about? Especially Classic Sonic.

I had to think about it.

[laughs]

[laughs] We just sit here and he eats chocolate, and he goes, "Who would win in a fight, Superman or Sonic the Hedgehog?"

Yeah.

And then we have to talk about who would win.

3rd

K also made another jump towards Classic Sonic, Emerald Hill Zone.

Kumu knew exactly what was the next thing for game progression, because of course.

Chemical plant zone.

And the four games with the most votes will go on to be games that I talk about in Backlog Month.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2, today's topic du jour, the game we're discussing, is one of those winners and joining me today to talk about the second entry in the sonic the hedgehog the sonic the hedgehog sonic the hedgehog uh series uh two wonderful guests both returning guests um we'll start off with someone who has not been on the show since i believe the bluey episode joining me returning to the show is my good buddy jordan jordan how are you doing today

Hi, Josh.

I'm good.

Luke, what else has been happening?

Interesting interview with Sonic the Hedgehog game director Takashi Izuka.

It was revealed this week that he said apparently that Sonic the Hedgehog as a franchise was almost cancelled if not for the success of the Sonic the Hedgehog movies.

Yes, Bree, the movie saved the day.

No, it

they're referring to.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

It's often been said that Sonic the Hedgehog has had a rough transition from the 2D to the 3D.
