Sonic CD

I think they're very captivating, even on songs that are more instrumental, even just having vocals.

like vocal hits or some some vocal quality to it it's very it's such a sound i like and so on this ones i just said um why not let's do it i remember when uh sonic r and even before sonic cd i remember sonic cd playing uh for the first time on the tv oh

Man, that was crazy.

And, you know, that was still some of the greatest video game music even to this day that was made back then.

For sure.

But then when Sonic CD kicked in and there was like full proper song and it's like, it was a proper sit back kind of world experience.

And I guess even if no one else follows the lead, I can at least say I saw the world's first ever drawing of Tales of Stahl.

or the rejected sketch drawing of the Sonic CD final boss, who's going to be called psycho egg at one point, but then they changed it.

It's like, you know, little things like that came out of it.

If nothing, it may be able to inspire other others.

Uh, and then I beat Sonic CD.

Okay, now that's good.

But I didn't do all the future and past stuff.

Speaking of other Sega properties that are coming back to the Dreamcast through ports, we've also got Sonic CD.

which is being ported using Christian Whitehead's mobile version as a base.

Christian Whitehead, obviously, responsible for Sonic Mania, which is another game, incidentally, which is being ported to the Dreamcast.

So that's all we have for now.

God, there's a lot of Sonic games coming in.

You could do like a triple pack, wouldn't you, Sonic? Sonic CD, Sonic Mania, amazing.

We ended up with an audio spike double, because if anything was going to drag us back into the Sonic Mines, it would be that.

But it was a take on the bad future music for Stardust Beatway US, from the US version of Sonic CD.

So we ended up having that one right there.

So, Stardust Beatway, the bad future good vibes mix.

It's just glorious.

It's just a feeling.

Purpose is also saying you're only allowed to light the JP Sonic CD soundtrack.

This is orthodoxy.

What like, what are the best Sega CD games? It's a, it's a really, it's a, it's a really weird catalog.

You know, Sonic CD had, um, you know, Red Book audio and some, a little, a little bit of like scaling and rotation, 'cause the Sega CD had its kind of makeshift Mode 7 style stuff in it.

And so that game has a little bit of that in there.

It's, uh, it's WWF Rage in the Cage.

That to me is the reason to return.

Yeah, or, yes, or Chuck Rock 2: Son of Chuck, of obviously, obviously a huge, a huge, uh, thing.

Um, Crafty, uh, Crafty [inaudible] says, "Is Sonic CD the best Sega CD game?" N- no.

Isn't that the Sega CD? Because the Genesis version has a slightly different name, right?

Yeah, Soul Feast is on the Mega Drive and Soul Dece is on the Mega CD.

but it was new to me and I do wish they just had a mode in Sonic Origins where you could just be Sonic and Tails in every game including Sonic 1 and Sonic CD and where you could just have the Sonic 3 shields in every game including Sonic CD and Sonic 2 that would just be cool it would be neato yeah

Also, talking about sort of starting from, I guess, an earlier game, going back to Sonic the Hedgehog, but it's Sonic the Hedgehog CD, Sonic CD, also brought to the Dreamcast,

This is Sonic CD 2011, but it's the Dreamcast board.

So this is the Christian Whitehead version of Sonic the Hedgehog CD, or Sonic CD, but being made on the Dreamcast.

What was this originally

released on? What did they do? Is this just like a homebrew project or like a...

I don't know how to stop at this point.

So I played through Sonic 1 and Sonic CD as well.

And the Sonic Origins versions are pretty cool, actually.

When they came out originally, I think that there were some hiccups with maybe the emulation or some of the features.

I found it a lot less irritating than Sonic Mania, to be honest.

It's a title I would recommend playing.
