Maybe next time.
Mike ColettaHOST
33:05
Well, the last one we have is a specialty cartridge that you and I wanted to talk about, and that is the Sonic & Knuckles Sega Genesis cartridge.
Mike ColettaHOST
33:14
Okay,
Tyler OsbyHOST
33:15
so aesthetics on its own, not great.
Mike ColettaHOST
34:36
So I want to put it in the eights here for that.
Tyler OsbyHOST
34:39
I put it at the top of the A tier.
Tyler OsbyHOST
34:41
And I would say Sonic & Knuckles with a Sonic 3 cartridge in it is S tier.
Tyler OsbyHOST
34:46
Because you look at that and you go, now that's a game.
Joe FoxHOST
33:45
And then Sonic Origins came out.
Joe FoxHOST
33:48
which was just another repackaged way to play the Sega Mega Drive Sonic games because it had Sonic & Knuckles on it and the Sonic & Knuckles where you combine the games and you actually get the full package, the full game.
Joe FoxHOST
34:02
I absolutely loved that and I blasted through that when that came out about two years ago and they included extra characters in there that you could play through as well, like the Armadillo and Amy.
Joe FoxHOST
34:14
I really, really enjoyed that.
NordoHOST
56:25
They're missing that physical back who can pass protect and just take some reps off the game changer.
Max FullerUNKNOWN
56:32
They're missing the knuckles to Sonic when they used to have the Sonic and Knuckles combo that's...
Max FullerUNKNOWN
56:37
They're missing the knuckles.
Max FullerUNKNOWN
56:38
They are
TomHOST
46:53
Let's have a look when this game came out.
TomHOST
46:54
Sonic & Knuckles.
DanGUEST
46:56
So whilst you're doing that, I was looking up a game that I believed I played in childhood because I have a memory of me and my best mate round at his playing the game and his dad coming in and saying, guys, you're going to stop.
DanGUEST
47:09
You have to stop screaming like I'm trying to sleep.
DanGUEST
47:30
I thought, well, we were kids then because in my head I was like, we must have been like 15, maybe 16, but we were 20 years old.
DanGUEST
47:36
Getting told off for being too loud, screaming at video games.
TomHOST
47:39
Well, this is, for me, like Sonic, I was playing, like the games I was playing before, Sonic & Knuckles came out in 1994, near the end of the year.
TomHOST
47:46
Tomb Raider's coming out in 96.
RobHOST
17:45
tapioca semolina I believe is another yeah yeah yeah all these good things you can make
EamonHOST
17:50
some lovely stuff with tapioca if you have the tapioca flour right fire it into your pan don't put any oil or nothing let it there for a while it'll congeal together you put some cheese on it and you wrap it up Sega Mega Drive Sega Mega Drive if you get enough tapioca and you put the tapioca into the Mega Drive it'll play Sonic and Knuckles class
RobHOST
18:12
if you put the fucking golden axe shinobi and fucking streets or edge cartridge into a sandwich tell you one thing that'll blow the socks off you
EamonHOST
18:23
if you eat streets or h2 in tapioca you'll turn into blaze fielding fucking amazing
Matt LawrenceHOST
10:51
This is the Saturn game that was a compilation of the complete classic Sonic titles.
Matt LawrenceHOST
10:55
But the game conversion had drastically simplified stages inspired by Sonic 2, Sonic 3, and Sonic & Knuckles.
Matt LawrenceHOST
11:02
The character, whose defining trait is speed, ended up having a handheld with bad motion ghosting and choppy animation.
Matt LawrenceHOST
11:09
So this is kind
Tim GettysHOST
58:21
Games Cage, the homie, Super Chat saying, hey guys, just wanted to say Tim and Blessing genuinely hate me personally for not getting Sonic on the list.
Tim GettysHOST
58:27
No Sonic Adventure 2, no Mania, no 3, no Sonic Knuckles, no Sonic X Shadow Generations.
Tim GettysHOST
58:33
It's time to redo the entire list.
Tim GettysHOST
58:35
I love you so much.
Daryl BaxterGUEST
20:35
I loved how every single stage had its own identity and the music too, which I couldn't believe how good it sounded.
Daryl BaxterGUEST
20:43
And then even when I thought it was all finished, I then found out, I think a year or two later, that there was a second part, like Sonic and Knuckles, which completed the whole story.
Daryl BaxterGUEST
20:54
So it just kind of gave a whole different aspect to how you could play the game.
Daryl BaxterGUEST
20:58
And then you could play as Knuckles, which... you could go to Sonic 3's levels but play them in in different layouts and different enemies too so it was a game that just made such an impact and that was like the day pretty much Simon on December 25th 1994 that my interest in games like really began and there's a picture of me playing the game on that day in the first Tomb Raider book in the intro because it just it defines like what's what it meant to me what it still means and I'm and I play it still every year because it's just a joy to play I don't really feel like there's a I just don't feel like there's a negative in I just love it and the music is just yeah something else so um yeah and my son's starting to play it now so it's like a passing a torch oh very sweet
Gawny7789GUEST
24:57
Of course, yeah.
Gawny7789GUEST
24:59
But yeah, and then you got lock on technology as well with having to put the Sonic Knuckles car into the Mega Drive and then putting that in on top, that Sonic 3 on top.
Gawny7789GUEST
25:10
Or you could just leave it and play Blue Sphere if you want constantly for the rest of your life because there's a ridiculous amount of levels in that.
Gawny7789GUEST
25:16
Yeah,
JasonHOST
63:10
But, like, I mean, I definitely played my handful of Sonic games.
JasonHOST
63:14
But Sonic & Knuckles was kind of a big release on this day in 1994.
JasonHOST
63:18
Yes, it was.
JasonHOST
63:18
