Sonia Feldman

You're making me think of a couple things.

One is when we talked with Sonia Feldman, we talked a little bit about the opportunity cost that working on any piece of writing is putting into your life.

You're looking at projects you're not taking on, other hobbies you're not exploring, etc., etc., etc.

And

Yeah, they, they have a real sense of what your book is, and they can give you actual feedback.

They have a sense of like, not just, how's this scene working or how's this paragraph working, but like this is this person's idea of the novel they want to write, how do I help them get there? So that was hugely helpful.

And then I came out of that and was able to do the Literary Cleveland's Breakthrough Writing Residency, which was a mentorship program that again gave me an infrastructure to revise the book.

And so that's kind of like the monologue of the sort of phases of being ready for a village and then finding a format that was gonna work for me.

"...

it, this is a good thing that I'm spending so much time on or do you?" [chuckles]

Yeah, I mean, I think like there's so much value in being able to talk about your book to a person who already knows what the book is.

Mm-hmm.
