Songs for a New World

I just, you know, and as one should, I think I'm just getting better at what I do.

But I hear the last five years as being much better writing than I was able to do in Parade and much better writing than I was able to do in Songs for a New World.

What were the things you learned, though, in Songs from a New World? I feel like when you listen to that, even though what you're saying, and I understand that in some ways the songs get better, but you still notice, you see the fingerprints of all your work in Songs

from a New World.

And nobody told me those are all the ideas you ever have, that like what I'm doing now is still the same stuff.

It's just like refined and turned upside down and like anything I can do to keep recycling the same idea without everyone knowing that that's what I'm doing.

So I think a lot of songs for a new world is just me like spraying out ideas, like whether they work or whether they land or whether they fit into the world of the song or not.

I'm like, this is an idea.
