It sounds like California.

Everything about it is California, with the characters that you got in the songs to the song titles to just the way the whole thing sort of flows, like sky, sea, ocean, all that kind of stuff.

But at the same time, there's just sort of a balance between this mellowness and this, you know, being at peace with yourself with a sense that things aren't necessarily always all right in L.A., in Hollywood, in California.

But, you know, the whole record was written in Los Angeles and, you know, every day I drove down Hollywood Boulevard to go to the rehearsal studio to write.

Revenge and Hurt and Song to the Siren are good.

They're kind of slow, somewhat heavy, but Better Not Lie to Me is some much more fun music.

It's really upbeat, and that's what I went with, Better Not Lie to Me.

were eating breakfast and while you guys were chilling, I started looking it up and then there's a song, This Mortal Coil, and the comments on this, I was like, people are actually afraid of this song.

Well, she's some kind of siren that called him to the river.
