The snarky engineer in me is like, isn't this just changing the titles again to try and keep it fresh or something? There's already so many titles for what a pre-sales engineer is, whether it's SE or something called SA, like Solutions Architect.

That's what AWS calls it.

Now we've got FDE.

You'll want to understand networking, virtualization, automation, and security, along with tools like Terraform, Docker, or even Kubernetes.

Certifications like the AWS Solution Architect or the Azure Administrator can give you a huge boost in credibility.

But remember, certs can only help if you apply what you learn.

One challenge here is the constant evolution.
