Solo (Reprise)

He wouldn't re-emerge in a substantial way until 2016, when Andre appeared on seven tracks in the span of just five months.

And the first major appearance was a reunion with Frank Ocean, who gave Andre an entire track to himself on solo reprise off of Blonde.

So now I'm solo that I can see under the skirt of a aunt Solo that I don't get high no more when I try no more I just go haunt Solo my cup is a rojo, my cholo, my friend Solo that I can admit When I hear that another kid is shot by the po-po It ain't an event

In classic Andre fashion, he flips the song's central premise of solo into the homophone so low, using the track to express what appears to be a state of depression.

Rojo is Spanish for red, while Cholo here appears to refer to a homie or friend.

So Andre's only companion is his red solo cup, a reference to drinking that leaves us with a sobering image of Andre truly solo, just him and his drink.

Now needless to say, solo reprise found Andre rapping in prime form, making clear that time away from the mic had no effect on his ability to perform when the right opportunity presented itself.

Less than a month later, Andre popped up on Travis Scott's The Ends.
