Soledad O'Brien

Efficiency and care are not opposites, but the efficiency measure has to include the effort we are asking the other person to absorb.

The second connection came from Serena Williams' conversation with Soledad O'Brien.

My notes emphasize the difference between reaching a level and continuing to improve once you are there.

Learning, coaching, adapting.

I happened to be doing this show.

Soledad O'Brien was my guest.

Neither of us could believe what we were witnessing that day.

And just like 9/11, it was truly a made-for-TV spectacle that unfolded live like a nightmare in real time.

To, and in order to be successful and be able to have graduated from law school or even during the bar prep process- Yeah ... you, you need boundaries and say no.

I, I remember, uh, when I graduated from undergrad- Mm-hmm ... our, our commencement speaker was the internationally renowned journalist Soledad O'Brien, and she said that we have to ignore the naysayers- Mm-hmm ... and people that are not positive for our journey or- Mm-hmm ... who wants to see us make it because it's such a very stressful process.

Mm-hmm.

Not only time-consuming, but expensive.

Welcome to the Elevate Podcast.

Our quote for today is from Soledad O'Brien, "Being an entrepreneur is a mindset." My guest today, Mike Michalowicz, was declared as one of the contenders for patron saint of entrepreneurs by Simon Sinek.

He's a serial entrepreneur who started several multimillion-dollar companies and uses his business to test and perfect ideas other entrepreneurs can use to excel.

He's the co-author of the best-selling Entrepreneurship Simplified book series, which includes hits like Profit First, Clockwork, Get Different, and his latest, All In.

Mm-hmm.

In June of 2024, and Soledad O'Brien Productions really spearheaded that.

Oh, that's great.

The film was made in collaboration with them, and we premiered it at the New Orleans Festival.

That's incredible because, you know, we're hearing more and more that that system is, is lean, it's thin, it's falling by the wayside for a lot of people.

Very lean.

You said Soledad O'Brien was the production force behind The Devil is Busy.

Correct.

And I just, you know, I was a young story editor at that point, and I learned so much from them.

And Rob was giving an interview, and him and Soledad O'Brien was another host on this project.

They were describing how I was brought into the project with very little context.

And I basically had to find my way through it.
