The Latin rock icon was the frontman, guitarist, and songwriter for Soda Stereo, one of the most influential and important bands in the history of Spanish language rock.

Rico Rodriguez passed away in 2015 at the age of 80 in a London hospital after a short illness.

He was a Cuban-American trombonist who was famous as being a pioneer of ska and reggae music, most notably for lending his horn playing to the two-tone band The Specials.
