Today I was involved in a roundtable kind of workshop with some really awesome funders from philanthropy and myself and we were looking at how we can move evaluation practice with funding towards a learning orientation away from accountability and compliance and it was just really humbling and really valuable to hear real stories and reflections from people who have struggled with this dynamic and have had to really negotiate and navigate quite difficult relationships with funders in their evaluation journey towards more learning and adaptability.

Hi there, my name is Renee de Jong and I'm from Social Ventures Australia based up in Darwin on Larrakia country.

This was my first evaluation conference and Although I'm about six or seven years in, I consider myself still very new to evaluation.

And although I've done nearly all my evaluation in the Northern Territory context and a lot on evaluations that affect Aboriginal people.
