Snow King Mountain

Um, I've lived in our community for almost 30 years now, I think 28 years.

I, um, previously come from the ski industry, worked at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort for 22 years, and worked as the director of ops for Snow King Mountain for a couple years after that.

Um, find myself in my first government job, which is a big change in my life.

I have a, uh, freshman in high school, and, uh, I live with my girlfriend just south of town.

He says precipitation can melt and refreeze, and that weak layer can lead to more avalanches.

For inbound skiers, Snow King Mountain Resort is gearing up for a December 3rd open date, says General Manager Ryan Stanley.

We've pretty much always been able to hit it.

Even last year we hit it.

Because Indy is in a situation right now where they seem to have a monopoly on non... like Epic or Icon-affiliated resorts.

But we're already seeing a bit of a turf war with Snow King.

And I know you had someone from Snow King on your podcast.

And it sounds like, from that perspective, that could either be an anomaly or that could be a harbinger of things to come.

I get the sense there are some partners with Indie who are not the most... you know, pleased with how certain things have gone.

But that's just the transit lift.

I think you have White Pass in Washington and Snow King and White Pine in Wyoming, all with SeaTac triples.

But there's also a lot of ski areas out there that don't have SeaTac triples that could – in theory, use one of these lifts.

So I really encourage Vale Resorts, if anyone's listening from over there, to very vocally consider to not only sell these chairs, but very vocally do so.

The cameras monitor the valleys near Snow King Mountain and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

A third is set to be installed near Buffalo Valley later this year.

There were things in Jackson Hole, though, that we really did miss out on.

There's a place called Snow King Mountain, um, that has, it's called a cowboy alpine coaster, cowboy coaster.

Oh, cool.

Um, it has, it's like one of those coasters, you know, on the side of the mountain, right? And so they have one of those.
