So, I mean, that would remove, for example, the right of legal residents of France who are not French citizens to work for organizations like La Poste, EDFs, SNCF, businesses in sort of social or healthcare sectors.

And it also excludes non-French citizens from joining a trade union.

And I mean, the minute any politician starts talking about restricting your right to join a union, that is a glaring warning sign that they intend to screw you over.

It is the absolute danger of assuming the physical world matches the theoretical spreadsheet.

I was reading the reports on the French national rail operator SNCF from the 2010s, and this one absolutely blew my mind because I look at my couch fiasco and I'm just one guy who forgot a tape measure.

But SNCF is a massive bureaucratic entity.

huge, well-funded organization.

It really is.

The people who designed the sleek new trains and the people who managed the aging regional stations worked for the exact same organization.

They both had SNCF on their paychecks, but they simply never talked to each other.
