I'd gotten into punk.

And I guess like that was like, you know, gateway bands through like when I was younger, I heard Nirvana and Green Day and, you know, Beastie Boys and Rage Against the Machine and things that you know like were proper gateway bands right to get you into punk or hardcore and you know by the time I was about 15 I'd heard you know some modern things that were like kind of hardcore hardcore adjacent so things like Snapcase and Refused and AFI like especially like early AFI like shut your mouth and open your eyes you know heavy screaming and I was like yeah this is great you know like I like hardcore but I'd never actually heard like proper 80s hardcore before

Snapcase versus Gallows.

I like Snapcase, but I don't have a history with Snapcase, so it's Gallows.

And then they go into this Snapcase song.

And it's so I'm so jealous to watch Turnstile have that.

But like when it became kind of its own entity, I don't know.

I feel like, I feel like it's gotta be like some of the mid nineties bands, you know, like, um, uh, again, like Earth Crisis, Snapcase, um, early cave-in i think was in there too um oh overcast there's again there's a lot of them but in terms of who was there first to really claim it i feel like it was like just a bunch of fucking like just metal dudes or skater dudes and hardcore kids like putting the flag on the same fucking peak at the same time yeah all right well do we mosh yeah

So Snapcase was cool.

I don't think I've ever seen Snapcase in Eerie.

I think they've played Eerie a bunch, but I never saw them in Eerie.

Yeah, I never saw them in Eerie, but they've definitely played Eerie.

Good energy always.

Welcome, this is Jeremy Allen Gould, and I'm coming to you today to confirm between God and of man that the rumors you have all heard are true.

I started this podcast to have a platform for the bands and artists that I've worked with in the past, as well as new musicians and artists that influenced myself and many others.

And that record, there's three songs out.

One just came out with Daryl Taberski, the singer of Snapcase, who I bet you've crossed paths with back in the day.

So he's on that song and a couple other legends are as well.

And so that record is coming out right around the same time within a month of the Phantom 5.

you know, just put it out, put your art out there however you can.

I love it.

And one last thing, let's talk about, here's a hardcore kid, okay? He loves Snapcase and he was able to write and release a song like this.

I think that's so cool.

At that show, John asked Kevin, our bass player, to sing for Morning Again because he had already kicked Damien out, hadn't told him yet, and he was also kicking out Eric, so he asked Floyd, our friend Floyd, to play bass also.

So while I was on this, I'm kind of messing the timeline up, While I was on tour, because I remember being in St. Pete, we played with Snapcase and Refused.

Floyd, Kevin, and another person, this girl, Andy Thornton, who I ended up moving to Gainesville with, were driving to South Florida for them to try out, and they ended up staying and being in the band.

Kevin had just moved with his shoes and seven bucks.

I know, like...

There are a handful of bands.

I mean, obviously in that time frame, everyone can reference what I refer to as the big three, which is Strife, Snapcase, Earth Crisis, you know, Victory Records of that time.

But then there was also some of the bands like 108 and Resurrection that were like big influences on South Florida.

And so I ended up becoming like the token bass player at school.

And that just... flooded me with lots of influences from lots of different kids, whether that stemmed from hardcore stuff like Snapcase was big, big one when I was growing up.

But also all that punk stuff led towards the harder side of things.

And I can't remember what the name of the video was.
