Snap Judgment

Stay tuned.

Snappers, we are so delighted you could join an annual Snap Judgment tradition where we explore stories of the unexplained from our evil twin podcast, Spooked, The Goblins of Eastern Kentucky, already in progress.

I'm Lora Smith.

I grew up in southeastern Kentucky.

There are more goblins right after the break.

Stay tuned.

Welcome back to Snap Judgment.

My name is Glynn Washington.

The campaign is seeing women naming their abusers and calling for accountability across the country.

Over at Snap Judgment, a podcast from KQED, reporters Maddie Bolaños and Anna Sussman have been doing an investigation into sexual abuse at a women's prison in California.

In their new three-part series, We Are Jane Doe, 13 women break the silence about the assaults they experienced at the hands of the prison guards.

A warning that this story contains strong language and descriptions of violence against women and sexual assault.

Welcome back to The Sunday Story.

You're listening to We Are Jane Doe, brought to us by our friends over at Snap Judgment.

And again, a warning: This story features descriptions of violence against women and sexual assault.

And if you have received a vision or an omen of a chapter yet to be revealed, please tell me about it.

Spooked at snapjudgment.org because there's nothing better than a spooked revelation from a spooked listener.

Spooked at snapjudgment.org. KQED in San Francisco has hidden spooked under the raging waters of the River Styx to preserve you from what emerges on All Hallowed Eve.

Please, please, don't seek to find it.

Lest it seek to find you.

Almost.

Because if we didn't scrap, how would Ray know how much I care? [upbeat music] Today on Snap Judgment, stories of friendship.

We're calling it Shut Up, Ray.

No, no, we're calling it Shut Up, Rick.

The name of the episode, it's Shut Up, Rick.

My name is Glynn Washington.

Don't be like Ray, who after my trip to London absolutely refuses to listen to Snap Judgment.

[upbeat music] Now then, friendship can be hard, especially when you're going through something.

And I still tour with the Moth occasionally.

And Snap Judgment grabbed me and I started touring with them at different shows.

And I remember being in Chicago with Snap Judgment.

And I was kind of chilling with Glenn Washington, who's a friend of mine.

You know, we've always been super cool since we started working together.

And my numbers jumped from the hundreds to the thousands.

Then Glenn did something unbelievable.

He allowed Homemade Stories to take over an entire episode of Snap Judgment.

I'm Suki Lewis, and you've been listening to We Are Jane Doe.

This has been a special co-production of Snap Judgment and KQED.

Madiba Lanyos and Anna Sussman produced this series.

It was edited by me, Nancy Lopez, and Mark Ristich.
