Smoky quartz

So this series takes them one at a time in the order of the year.

Ashen, the Smoky Quartz sign, holds the season from November twenty-third through December twelfth, twenty days of the year.

So today, one sign in full.

Ashen, then, November twenty-third through December twelfth, twenty days of the year, and the sign of Smoky Quartz, a clear stone with weather inside it, gray as a sky that has not yet decided, the color of smoke held in glass and a road seen through.

Morning mist, whose mood is resourceful adaptability, which is a polite way of saying this dog regards a washed-out bridge as merely the river suggesting a more interesting crossing.

Ashen is the improviser of the pack, and it runs on the trail instinct, which means an Ashen does not follow the marked path.

I'm showing off probably one of my favorite pieces in my whole collection.

This is phenakite growing on smoky quartz from O'Brien's Creek.

This is one of my absolutely favorite pieces.

Phenakite is one crystal, one mineral that makes me feel like I am on some sort of stimulant drug.

I'm following what I know I need to do because I can see my life clearly.

I think is really important.

And I think that's why naturally, you know, forming with something like smoky quartz is really, really cool because it helps you to shift energy in a couple of different ways in a more grounded way.

It doesn't matter where you are in life.

I was getting, I was, I was noting that to be like, they just dropped that totally.

And then in volume 11, Akmea, whatever his name is, tells Cairngorm that they've been steadily trying to basically turn Phos human.

Yes.

So that they can control Congo.

It's almost like a sketch.

I'm flipping through Volume 10, and there's, this is right after the wedding between Karangarm and the prince.

But it's on page 93, and it's showing, like, the retreat where the prince and Cairngorm are.

And there's, like, palm trees, and the palm trees are drawn in the reflection of, like, the floor right there.

Tiger's Eye, where's my Tiger's Eye, is another one I really like here because it has that earthy golden brown coloring and this energy of grounded confidence and discernment.

Smoky Quartz is perfect for the release side of Mabin, especially if you are thinking about what you do not want to carry into the darker months.

Moss Agate can bring in that direct connection with the earth, growth and cycles of nature.

And Garnet starts to move us into those deeper red tones that feel like the bridge between autumn and the darker energy that comes later.

I say work with what you already have.

If your focus is gratitude, maybe you reach for the citrine.

If you are thinking more about release, smoky quartz might make more sense.

If you want to feel more grounded and steady through a transition, tiger's eye could be the stone you choose.

However, each year I feel things shift slightly depending what's going on in the world.

And with that being said, I really feel like if you're in the Northern Hemisphere, moving into Mabon in autumn, I absolutely love Smoky Quartz this year.

It feels so right for this point in the wheel of the year because it grounds us while we're helping ourselves and others to release.

And when I mean release, I mean release what we're finished with.

It's going to be a bit of upheaval.

It might be a little bit emotional, but the smoky quartz will help us.

Green Aventurine is also very beautiful right now for gratitude and abundance, particularly if you want to acknowledge what you've already grown rather than immediately chasing the next thing.

And I would add Carnelian.
