Smithfield Street Bridge

This work covers just kind of the three blocks in the center of Smithfield Street, kind of in the area of the old Kauffman's building where Target is now.

And long term, the hope is to do similar work moving towards the Smithfield Street Bridge side of Smithfield and then ultimately the last chunk down toward Liberty Avenue.

Yeah, I mean, Steph, is there anything that you have seen, you know, among these plans that you've maybe heard people talk about? Because I know you do quite a bit of reporting just like physically in this area of town.

Yeah, I think anybody who has listened to this show knows that we are in deep need of affordable housing now.

And so while Smithfield Street has had a bunch of the fancier condos and lofts and things like that come in, there are plans in that $600 million that Shapiro came here and announced to transform one of the buildings across from one Smithfield, so all the way down by the Smithfield Street Bridge side.

Mm-hmm.

To include, I think it was 39 units of affordable housing out of something like 46 units.
