Small for gestational age

However, in this latest round of publications, again, August of 2026, one publication from the Gray Journal says, yep, we're good.

We don't see any major issue, maybe a little higher chance of SGA, maybe some hypoglycemia.

But it doesn't, you know, increase the risk of stillbirth, prolonged NICU, need respiratory assistance.

It should be fine.

Quote, resolved FGR was not associated...

Remember when I just read you where it said it is associated? So here it is.

Resolved FGR was not associated with increased composite neonatal morbidity compared with pregnancies without FGR, although they tended to have higher risks of being born SGA and some hypoglycemia issues.

Okay, so here we go.

Is there a risk there just, uh, like, in and of itself, is there a risk just by virtue of the fact that there are the two vessels instead of three? Slightly, yes.

So there is a 10, maybe 10 to 15% increased risk of a small for gestational age baby or fetal growth restriction.

We are not worried about a SGA baby, right? [laughs] That doesn't mean anything.

So how many of those 10 to 15% are just SGA versus IUGR, I don't know.

There's a small risk of preterm birth Small increased risk, maybe one and a half to two times the baseline.

I guess my question is, I don't see how ultrasound protects or prevents any of these.

They're starkly different.
