Sloane Street

Another bit of Amiga news is I finally got to try on the first light chronograph, which was cool.

Not in Regent Street or Sloane Street, but I went to Covent Garden because I was in London last week for a job.

So the day after the job, I did a little bit of watch button because I could.

I'd like to just stay by it.

stumbled in, not because we'd had anything yet, but, you know, went to this very classic pub, which is crazy because I looked it up to figure out where we were.

It was the Gloucester Pub on Sloan Street in Knightsburg and or Knightsbridge, excuse me.

And apparently it's shut down temporarily because it's under new ownership and it's going to reopen.

And Guy Ritchie is one of the Like the famous movie producer and director is one of the people that's part of the restaurant group that's going to reopen this pub, which we picked totally by accident.

A daring author placed him in impossible and romantic situations in order to see how he would react to them.

He reacted to the extent of a libel action, an abortive appeal for suppression, a riot in Sloane Street, two personal assaults, and the loss of his position as lecturer upon physiology at the London School of Subtropical Hygiene.

Otherwise, the matter passed more peaceably than might have been expected.

But he was losing something of his fire.

He seems to have plenty of money, explained Farnham, and though he's a newcomer in London, has got in with a number of good people.

He has two houses, one in Sloane Street and one up the Thames, a queer, lonely old place near Purley Lock, if you know where that is.

I'm staying out there with him now, as it happens, though I can't say I'm as fond of the river as he is at this season.

But when a few papers and a good round sum of money have changed hands, a couple of days or so from now, I shall bid Wildred and England au revoir.

She might go to Peter Jones, which is on the corner of King's Road, which many of you will know if you live in the area.

She would like to go up Sloane Street and maybe have a coffee in Sloane Square.

And the King's Road, with all its shops and bars and environment, was a place that made her happy.

She felt happy.

But she was a woman who was never surprised at anything except the obvious and the inevitable.

Edith had not the faintest idea of asking Madame Frabelle to stay at her very small house in Sloane Street, for which invitation indeed there seemed no possible need or occasion.

Yet she found herself asking her visitor to stay for a few days until a house or hotel should be found.

And Bruce, who detested guests in the house, seconded the invitation with warmth and enthusiasm.

Chapter 22.

While this drama was taking place in the little house in Sloane Street, Madame Frabel, who lived for romance and was always imagining it where it didn't exist, was, of course, sublimely unconscious of its presence.

She had grown tired of her fancy about Edith and Mr. Mitchell, or she made herself believe that her influence had stopped it.

I didn't.

I put that light back on, headed for Knightsbridge, and then going to Sloane Street, and I've just noticed a crowd outside one of the shops, uh, protesting about something.

[laughs] And who's standing there? There's Tommy standing there, and I, I can't believe it.

I've just made a beeline for him.
