So obviously when I started my career, I had the utmost piece of technology that was my advantage.

It was called a slide rule.

Uh, okay, well, that disappeared while I was still in college.

He blamed the crash entirely on the arrogance of civil servants who prioritize political schedules over mathematical reality.

Decades later, in his autobiography, Slide Rule, he summarized this bluntly.

He wrote, "...a politician or a civil servant is still to me an arrogant fool till he has proved otherwise."

That is a blistering quote.
