It's kind of a heavy set, you know, very kind of, um...

It's, it's, it's Slavic.

Mm-hmm.

Swedish is a Germanic language like, uh, Germany, uh, German or English, but Slavic is different.

It's, like, shorter and kind of slower and more...

It's a, it's a hard, uh, heavier language.

I have two that are my go-to.

One is a really classic Slavic version that's very pickley, where it's beets, actual pickles, a lot of garlic, and either a very vinegary dressing or a mayo dressing.

And that is something I would just take it out of the fridge and eat it straight from the fridge when my mom would make it.

I love it so much.

We look at Charlemagne's court, how his son, Louis the Pious, triggered the empire's collapse by publicly confessing his father's sins, why the greatest crisis and scandal of the 9th century was a 12-year royal divorce scandal involving ordeal by boiling water and papal excommunication, and how in the 1880s, Charles the Fat reunited the entire empire for the first time since Charlemagne and could have legitimately created a new Rome in the West, but he was deposed within three years because he failed to handle a Viking siege of Paris.

But what we find out in all of this is that the Carolingian Empire wasn't destroyed from the outside, not by Vikings or Arabs or Slavs, but by their impossibly high standards that expected their leader to be morally perfect and also aggressive on the battlefield, and these two traits don't normally play well with each other.
