Slate

I, I was thinking with this as a, when I was reviewing, you know, sort of the, what I wanted to say today, and I was thinking about there's all these sort of quasi-rumors, I guess.

So, you know, like the Slate truck, and Ford's got this Fathom coming out for really cheap.

Like, do you th- A- and, and I guess...

I don't know if I have a specific question, but just kind of curious to get your thoughts.

If they introduce this truck...

Like, if I'm Slate, I'm getting pretty worried.

I would be, too.

And even though people don't like the idea of Ford calling the Mustang or the Mach-E or the Mach-E not looking like a real Ford Mustang, like, it has been a very good car.

So, like, they obviously know what they're doing when it comes to electric vehicles.

And like you said, if I was Slate, I'd probably be worried, too, about the Fathom, especially because I think they said it was like $28,995, something like that.

So, yeah.

That's a lot of money.

Next on the list here, so Car and Driver got their hands on the new Slate truck.

We've talked about it a few times on the podcast, and they've had a few interesting things to say in the article.

Yeah.

So the first one I'm gonna mention has a very narrow market for it, but it is technically the cheapest new EV in America, and that is the Slate pickup truck.

So this is soon to be.

And if you're willing to pay, there are pretty much endless customization options.

So if you really want a vehicle that you can just make your own and order exactly how you want it, this is one of the only ways on the market right now you could do that.

And like I said, Slate expects the, uh, deliveries to start late in 2026.

So yeah, I mean, we actually tried to price one of these out, and the one we wanted almost got up to about 30,000.
