We can look at this progress.md file after the context window has compacted.

and pick up right where it left off without missing any information.

I wanted to double click on this because Vox pointed it out.

He calls it a handoff.md.

I just refer to it as a progress.md. And this is already in my goal skill that's optimized to write really good goal prompts.

This goal skill is gold.

You don't have to agree with Musk to see how fast things are moving.

The World Economic Forum estimates that around 40% of the skills we use at work today will be different in five years.

I've been setting up schools for over 20 years, from computer academies for adults to secondary schools, and I've always believed that education should follow the real needs of the market and equip people with practical skills.

Today, more and more skills are being taken over by AI.

So what is still worth learning? What is already changing, and how far might this go? I haven't written any code for 20 years.

Recently, I sat down at my laptop and created a full-fledged AI product that helps parents choose a school for their child.

Master a fixed body of knowledge, get a profession, and it will secure your place in the world for decades.

Not only do we not know how professions will change in a few years' time, but we also do not know which of them will be left to humans at all.

So somebody recommended, you definitely have to check out Matt Pocock.

I probably didn't pronounce that right, but just to search his GitHub skills and ask Claude or whatever you use to basically just identify like, which of these skills should I actually use to improve my engineering and development process? and it kind of pulled out 11 of them for me that i use pretty much all the time so whenever i have a question i'm like slash ask matt like hey what do you think about this like is this stupid and i'm learning so much more um than ever before and another thing that the skills just automatically did is when you're shipping things and this is so embarrassing and dumb but this was me uh on this journey so i'm sharing everything is i would just tell claude you know once i i agreed on something i was like ship it and i just kind of assumed it would ship it to github without creating a pr and without merging it and you know squashing it and getting it live on the actual site so i had so many claude sessions where i had said ship it and nothing got shipped so that was like A big waste of time.

And then immediately, as soon as I had that skill installed, it started breaking everything down into these very small PRs that went to GitHub.

So I could actually have a pretty good record of what actually got pushed to the site live so I could see the changes in real time.

That is super duper helpful.

I got so many great ideas from all of you.

Second is skills are like honestly the biggest, I mean the quickest win you could ever do when you're building something new or you're trying something that you haven't done before.

Just find somebody who has that skill.

He was removed but didn't match fix, obviously, because he's still playing.

Skill-wise, his team is not bad.

I don't know much about the Koyo Tao guy.

Mm-hmm.

I'm going to lead us through this.

You could use the skills.

You could use that, whatever.

You could use whatever to some other framework that you like, you know, whatever.

What is it about this business where they care? And so when you have these, and you can have negative ones.

So in other words, I call these deal breakers.

This is, again, in the skills and in the book, where even when the buyer really wants to buy, they still say, but we can't because… So those are your deal breakers.

So for enterprise, again, it could be, oh, we love this.

Like, hey, this is how I migrate from Heroku to Hatchbox.

Then you even do like a skill like Ernesto talked about.

These are our Rails upgrade skills that we release publicly.

Well, now you have a skill that you build out that says like, hey, this is the way in which Chris works.

handles migrating a hatch box this will do it with you along the way so you don't stub your toe and then finally for hatch box then you say like hey this is the white glove offering we're going to charge you x amount to do this all for you so you don't have to worry about doing any of this by yourself

And he's pairing with you as he's pairing with you.

He's bringing all his knowledge and expertise inside the skill.

So I think skills are going to be the future of content.

They can all influence how an AI coding agent works, but they have different jobs.

Today, we're keeping it simple.

The agent reads them as part of its normal setup.

Keep these files focused.

Now, let's talk about skills.

A skill is a reusable capability or workflow.

And I was like, well, I'll do your website.

Like what am I on this planet? If I can't help you, this person I like with the skill that I have, when you've helped me with the skill that you have, I think that's the world I want to live in.

You know?

Sounds good.

Anyway, he was saying as this came out, right? Like then Cursor wrote a blog post called Moving from Solid to React, right? And like a whole blog post about it.

Yeah.

And it basically deflated kind of this announcement, right? And then a week later, Anthropic has like this slash batch skill command that is like batch migrate, you know? And then it's like, and their example was batch migrate source from solid to react, right? And so he's just feeling like, like dude that sucks like you know like that yeah like i'm the meme like my little project my i'm in you know single person shop like making a framework and my the meme is you know like let's migrate off solid you know um i as somebody in the smaller framework game or the fringe ui framework uh uh game i i feel for that just because it is sort of like oh, what you code in doesn't matter anymore.

You just ask it to migrate to whatever's cool, you know? Oh, Rust is out? Migrate to Rust, you know? Oh, a new framework out? Go migrate, you know? And that, like, I...

A lot of people in our ecosystem have been talking about it.

And I wonder if you've heard about these skills he included with the book.

I've heard about them, but I haven't had a chance to try them out.
